St. Mark's Preschool strives to foster the growth and development of the 2 ˝, three, four, and five-year-old child by providing the following:

·   A relaxed classroom atmosphere.

·   Warm, individual teacher-child relationships.

·   Understanding, guidance, and direction.

·   Stimulating toys, equipment, and experiences, considering each child's individual needs at this stage of development.

NO ACTIVITY FEE but LOTS OF ACTIVITIES!  
Daily music and art activities in each class.
Spanish lessons twice a month for Pre-K classes.
Monthly Chapel Lesson with Rev. David Bonney, Pastor St. Mark’s UMC.
Additional Enrichment Programs have included:
     Chesterfield Fire Dept.—climb in the truck and see the equipment
     State Police—climb in a police car
     Jonathan Austin—entertainment with juggling and unicycles
     Rosie the Clown—see how a person becomes a clown
     Nature Fare—hands on learning about nature
     The Story Lady—fun interactive stories
     Animals Unlimited—see, touch, and learn about animals   
     Year-end bus ride to an area Kindergarten class for Pre-K classes
Parent Workshops offered:
     Managing Challenging Behaviors
     Kindergarten Readiness

WHAT ELSE SETS ST. MARK’S PRESCHOOL APART FROM THE REST?
Staff:
*  Our caring and educated staff provide a wonderful experience for St. Mark’s children.
*  Our creative staff provide fun, age appropriate music & art activities…no need to use outside music & art teachers because we have wonderful in-house music & art teachers!   
*  Staff are regularly learning and updating their skills and knowledge through workshops and continuing education. 
*  Six of our staff members have been with St. Mark’s Preschool for over 20 years.    
*  Four of our staff members have been with St. Mark’s Preschool for over 10 years.
*  One of our staff members is fluent in Spanish and teaches our Spanish lessons.
*  Our teachers have various degrees including Family and Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Art Education, and Early Childhood Special Education.
 
 Convenience:
*  Carpool lines for convenient drop-off in the mornings and pick-up in the afternoon.  Teachers escort the children to and from the car.  
*  Students bring in snack for the entire class one time per month. (Children with allergies bring their own snack according to our Allergy Policy).
*  A speech therapist visits the preschool for speech-language screenings for a nominal fee. 

Facilities:          
*  Child-sized bathrooms connected to each classroom.
*  Fenced in playground with age appropriate equipment and toys.
*  Gym can be used for activities during inclement weather.
*  Security system on exterior doors used during school hours to monitor visitors.
